
Both organizations offer one-on-one emotional support that connects cancer patients or loved ones with a volunteer survivor or caregiver to discuss their diagnosis and receive general emotional support. Support volunteers are matched with clients by cancer type, treatment method, life stage, age, and gender.
Oncology Social Workers, Financial Navigators, Nursing, and Patient Advocates; these are just some of the titles held by the compassionate staff at your treatment center who provide a variety of support everyday to many patients. The staff themselves are often a wonderful source of support and may be able to recommend those in recovery open and willing to talk. Always be sure to touch base with the staff at your treatment staff and ask what sources of emotional support are available.
