By participating, members improve the lives of Michigan cancer patients and their families through events, fundraising opportunities, advocacy, and volunteering all while growing their professional network.

So if you’re a recent grad or a seasoned professional, a Michigander for life or just passing through, this is the place to make connections while making a difference. KATIE BRYK

Katie is the Chief Marketing Officer at BSP Law in Troy, Michigan. She brings 10+ years of marketing and events expertise to the New Day NEXT Board of Directors. She earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing from Walsh College.  She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have a beautiful daughter, Reagan Jean.  They enjoy spending their summer weekends on Lake St. Clair.  She is supporting New Day in honor of her cousin who passed of Leukemia at the age of eleven.

Sarah, New Day NEXT
SARAH SMITH

Sarah is the Chief Growth Officer at Lambert & Co. and TiiCKER, a Fintech startup that specializes in providing cutting-edge technology solutions to public companies. She is a strategic thinker with a knack for identifying new market opportunities. Her superpower is developing strategic partnerships with companies and organizations. Sarah lives in Lake Orion with her husband Jeremy, son Parker and feisty husky, Memphis. She serves on an advisory board for the Special Olympics of Michigan and is a guest lecturer at her alma mater, Oakland University. She is supporting New Day in honor of her late Grandparents and her mentor, coach, and BFF, Joel Stern.

DANIELLE LEATH

Danielle is the Vice President of Employee Health & Benefits for Marsh McLennan Agency in Troy, Michigan where she works with middle market clients. Danielle’s prior experience includes directing the charitable giving for foundations and high-net-worth individuals. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Oakland University. Danielle is married with two daughters and enjoys vacationing in the mountains, wine tasting and cooking. She is supporting New Day in honor or her Grandmother who passed away from breast cancer, as well as her father-in-law and cousin-in-law who are currently battling other forms.

Jordann, New Day NEXT
JORDANN ANDRUSIAK

Jordann is an Advisor and Chief Client Experience Officer at Synergy Capital Solutions in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Jordann works with individuals and families to help them achieve their financial goals through relationship management, investment planning, and asset-management strategies. Jordann received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from The Broad College of Business at Michigan State University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER practitioner. She enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and two young sons. She is passionate about New Day in honor of her Aunt, Kathy Janssen, who passed away after a two-year battle with breast cancer.

Eleanor + Eric
ERIC NAHAT

Eric is an Advisor and Director of Investments at Synergy Capital Solutions. Eric works with individuals and families to help them achieve their financial goals through relationship management, investment planning, and asset-management strategies. Eric received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Eric lives in Ann Arbor with his wife and Portuguese Water Dog. He spends his free time traveling, tasting the newest local cuisine, and playing various sports. Eric is supporting New Day in honor of his late grandparents who passed away from different forms of cancer.

AMBER BEAUCHAMP

Amber is the Administrative Coordinator for City Council at the City of Rochester Hills. She has worked in the public sector for over eight years. Amber has facilitated the Clerk’s Department volunteer efforts with New Day Foundation to deliver groceries to cancer patients during the holidays and throughout the year. Amber earned an Associate degree in Business and Marketing and is currently working towards a dual bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration at Walsh College. She is married with three children and enjoys vacationing and spending time with her family. New Day has a special place in her heart due to the loss of her cousin, Stephanie, to leukemia.

Mike Pietela NEXT
MIKE PIETILA

Mike is the Chief Executive Officer of Nebo Lending, a mortgage brokerage based in Utica, MI. Since 2011, Mike has used his entrepreneurial and consultative skill sets to help his clients get the most out of their home finances. Residing in Utica, MI with his amazing wife Erin and energetic son Ethan, his free time is occupied by golf, football and just relaxing. Mike is supporting New Day in honor of his father who passed away from esophageal cancer in 2007.

WHITNEY KUTCHER

Whitney is the Client Relations Manager for Rockford Construction’s Detroit region. With more than a decade of experience in sales, customer experience, business development and marketing, she supports Rockford’s strategic growth in Southeast Michigan. Whitney is an alumna of Michigan State University and lives in Royal Oak with her soon-to-be husband, Ryan, and their golden retriever, Kirby. She also serves on the Associate Board for Special Days Camps, the second-longest running pediatric oncology camp in the world. Whitney is supporting New Day in honor of her family and friends who have battled cancer, but especially in memory of her grandfather, Robert, who lost his battle with lung cancer in 1997.

ANDREW ROMIG

Andrew is the General Manager of the University of Michigan Golf Course, which operates under the University of Michigan Athletic Department. He leads a diverse and dynamic team of over 60 individuals, guiding them towards the shared mission of delivering exceptionally valuable experiences for the University community. Andrew earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management from the University of Michigan, as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. He lives in Ann Arbor with his wife Alyssa, son Harrison, and Australian Shepherd, Clark.  Andrew is supporting New Day in honor of his Mom’s triumphant victory against cancer, as well as in memory of his late Aunt and Grandfather.

Jessica - NEXT
JESSICA WALSH

Jessica is the Clinical Lead Nurse Practitioner for Uptiv Health in Westland, Michigan, a start-up company striving to change the face of outpatient infusion experiences for patients with chronic diseases. Jessica worked as an RN at Beaumont Hospital for many years before earning her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2019 and transitioning to the NP role specializing in Hematology and Oncology. She helped launch the very first infusion clinic for Uptiv Health in August 2023. What makes Jessica so different is that she was able to accomplish all of this while battling, and beating, cancer herself. She is passionate about healthcare, especially those affected by cancer. She is supporting New Day in honor of her father and grandparents who passed away from cancer, as well as the many others whom she not only treated during her career in Oncology, but befriended during their cancer journeys.
