Supporting Kids. Supporting Families.

Whether a child is facing cancer themselves or is affected by a parent, sibling, or guardian's diagnosis, New Day helps ensure their basic needs are met and their daily lives remain as stable as possible.

We know that a cancer diagnosis and treatment can deeply disrupt the lives of their minor children. That’s why we step in during the most difficult moments—providing stability when families need it most.

New Day supports families with children impacted by cancer through our four programs — financial assistance, grocery support, emotional support, and resource navigation.

Studies have shown that a cancer diagnosis can unsettle any family’s day-to-day functioning. Research also reveals that children in rural or economically disadvantaged areas face greater barriers to supportive services.

Keeping Life Steady When Cancer Disrupts Everything

Over the past 19 years, New Day has helped more than 13,000 people, including 6,572 children, with over $10 million in support paid directly to creditors for housing, utilities, transportation, food, insurance, and other household expenses. By stepping in and providing financial stability, New Day ensures that families can focus on treatment and being together when cancer turns life upside down.

Emotional Support When It Matters Most

Cancer patients and their families face unique challenges and may benefit from a wide range of emotional support services. New Day works closely with hospital social workers to identify children in the household who may be in need of support. New Day is connected to a wide variety of organizations and provides direct referrals for families to ensure that the needs of these children are met.
