Jaclyn is a single mom who has always embraced life fully. Before cancer changed her world, she owned her own business and spent her days staying active with her three daughters. Rollerblading, hiking the dunes at sunrise, taking walks and playing outside were some of their favorite ways to spend time together.
In October 2025, Jaclyn noticed a lump in her breast. Soon after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After treatment, Jaclyn chose a holistic approach to her recovery, hoping the cancer was behind her.
In 2026, the cancer returned and spread to her bones. She has since undergone radiation and is now receiving oral chemotherapy, with additional treatment planned. The progression has dramatically changed what she is physically able to do. Activities that once filled her days are now difficult, and even standing for an extended period can be a challenge.
Through it all, Jaclyn’s outlook remains remarkably focused on what matters most. She describes cancer as only “20% of life” and says that life itself is beautiful. Her faith is an important source of peace, and she is surrounded by a strong community of family, friends and members of her community who visit to offer encouragement and care.
Her three daughters also help around the house, though Jaclyn wants them to continue enjoying their childhood and making memories together.
As Jaclyn navigates treatment and the uncertainty ahead, New Day was able to provide practical support by helping with household utility expenses, groceries and gas. That assistance gave Jaclyn one less financial burden to carry while she focuses on her daughters, her faith and the moments that make life count.
